The Role:

 

You will be a member of the group finance team and you will report to the Group Technical Manager and lead the financial accounting and reporting of all Intangible and Tangible assets of the group.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

 

*        Responsibility for maintenance of the fixed asset register within Cloud Financials, including month end postings, reflecting additions & disposals, and performing reconciliation between the general ledger and FA module

*        Preparation of depreciation/amortisation forecasts

*        Proactive review of new project business cases, prior to submission to the New Ideas Forum and Investment Review Committee,  preparing a summary of key considerations to facilitate approval of capital expenditure in line with IAS 38 capitalisation criteria

*        Partnering and running meetings with project managers to understand activities  undertaken on projects and performing an analysis and allocation of project spend into capital or operating expenditure

*        Attendance at Monthly tribe meetings to build understanding of the projects in progress and of costs being incurred to enable Group Finance to advise on capitalisation considerations

*        Monitoring tech development essentials / agile codes on a quarterly basis to understand activities being undertaken and consult on the appropriate split between capital and operating expenses

*        Quarterly review of all capitalised Project costs for that period to ensure these are compliant with the Group’s accounting policy, and in line with capitalisation criteria under IAS 38

*        Review of projects with the PMO team and ensuring any reaching stage of completion or where assets are ready for use, their useful economic life is assessed and these are capitalised and depreciated in a timely manner  assessing the useful economic life to be applied

*        Maintenance of the mapping of project codes to overarching “systems” for existing and new additions to ensure an up to date full picture of the systems architecture & cost

*        Maintaining leased assets and the relevant accounting under IFRS 16, including additions/disposals, accounting for any store settlements / exits and preparing monthly lease postings and reconciliations of lease accounting codes

*        Attention to detail and pride in what they do;

*        Good technical experience and financial reporting skills;

*        Experience of working in a best practice control environment and clearly understands what good looks like;

*        Excellent excel skills;
