We’re now embarking on one of the most exciting data transformation journeys in the industry, and we’re looking for an exceptionally driven Head of Analytics to help us on this journey and complete the senior management team, alongside the Data Management, Data Engineering, Data Science and Data Visualisation disciplines.
About the role:
As Head of Data Engineering, your role will drive the enterprise-wide data engineering strategy, overseeing engineering capability, as well as data modelling and design, database design and administration in addition to software development and systems and software life cycle engineering.
In your role as Head of Engineering you will:
- Develop and implement the data engineering strategy by engaging with stakeholders across the business, understanding their requirements.
- Work in partnership with Product Management and Digital Technology teams to prioritise requirements and create the enterprise-wide data engineering roadmap aligned to our strategic pillars
- Act as a focal-point for the Data Teams and identify cross-company opportunities to work collaboratively and share insight and techniques
- Build a high performing data engineering team, support, and coach colleagues, supporting with career development
- Using your knowledge and understanding of the Digital and Data Engineering processes (including Software Delivery and QA), Agile/Lean Delivery methodologies/best practices, Technology Strategy and Architecture to ensure best practice across the team.
- Developing software components to deliver value to stakeholders.
- Establishing and deploying an environment for developing, continually improving, and securely operating software and systems product and services
- Applying the processes, systems and functions required to make new and changes services and features available for use
- Manage supplier relationships and delivery

- M.I tools, e.g. PowerBI, Business Objects, Qlik, Excel, etc.
- AWS services, e.g. S3, IAM, Cloudwatch, Glue, Athena, Lambda and Kinesis etc.
- Data orchestration platforms, e.g., Airflow.
