As we continue to deliver our People Strategy we are on the lookout for a **HR Business Partner ** to join our established team. You will partner to one of our Executive board members to implement first-class people initiatives.

 

As People Business Partner you will be an experienced People professional, who has a broad experience in various People areas of expertise. Building valuable relationships with internal clients and transfer requests and solutions to/from the business unit. The value you will add is in depth knowledge of your internal clients, key employees, and business processes, leading the People management agenda within your division.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • To act as a single point of the contact for the CFO and SLT within your Division and support the wider business areas as required.
  • Proactively support the delivery of Group People processes for the Division including Regulatory compliance.
  • Manage complex People projects cross-functionally.
  • Build strong business relationships with the division, People Team and wider business areas.
  • Actively identify gaps, proposals, and implement changes necessary to cover risks.
  • Work in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Team to source and imbed key talents for the Division.
  • Facilitates the management team to bring best solutions for employees and the business.
  • Act as the performance improvement driver and provoke positive changes in the People management area for the division
  • Support the People Shared Service team who lead on ER cases including FWR, Dismissals and Employment Tribunal applications/defence.
  • Support the in-house L&D team to implement relevant group training within the division, emerging talent plans and colleague survey data to influence positive change.
  • Work alongside the Reward team to evaluate roles, review benchmark pay scales and use the insight to drive performance and optimise structures in line with financial targets.
  • Support Leaders to design succession plans for key talents and key job positions.
  • Challenges the organisational structure of the internal customer and proposes changes.
  • Have in depth knowledge of the Group Strategy and ensure ways of working and proposals are aligned to deliver against the strategy.
  • Considers inter-division dependencies and share knowledge with the BP community to ensure processes are optimised.
  • Ensure consistency of actions with all Divisional BP’s.
  • Be a point of contact for the wider People Team to share best practice and support with guidance and advice.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Intellectual curiosity and empathy - You must have a desire to learn all aspects of the business and understand its goals. In fact, a People BP should view attainment of these goals as a critical measure of his/her performance. Additionally, you must have deep caring for the colleagues and be a proactive force behind the People Strategy.
  • Problem solving - You must be comfortable working with Chief’s and SLT members to address any People challenges or issues. And, rather than viewing problems as “yours,” they should view them as “ours” and be an active part of the solution.
  • **Risk taking and courage - **You must be comfortable saying “no” and offering alternative opinions or actions to Chief’s and SLT members. They also must be ready to fail (and have the courage to allow for failure).
  • Digital acumen - You must have the ability to analyse and interpret data, use it to help Chief’s and SLT Members better understand colleague needs and incorporate results into People strategy and planning.
  • Business-language knowledge - To ensure credibility, you need to be able to speak commercially. This comes with knowing the details of the business they are serving and understanding its jargon and acronyms.
  • Networking skills - “Knowing who knows” within the Division, as well as externally, is hugely important, as is the ability to develop relationships with those who have knowledge and decision-making power.
  • **Change-management skills - **You must have the ability to facilitate discussions around change and transformation. Additionally, they must be able to identify in advance where and when change management will be needed and proactively participate in developing plans.
  • Discretion - Chiefs and SLT members need to trust their People BP’s with sensitive, “insider” information and should be left in no doubt that it will be kept confidential.
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent, with a personal passion for continual professional development.
