We have an exciting opportunity within our Fintech team for a Squad Test Lead. In this role you’ll be the primary point of contact for all testing activity within your squad, responsible for advancing excellence in a given squad and/or one or more quality domains by running and evolving the associated Quality Guild (such as Time Travel Testing, Event Testing or Data Management).
What will you do as a Squad Test Lead at N Brown?
- Act as the technical authority and coach, guiding and supporting testers and engineers across squads in best practices, tooling, frameworks, and implementation techniques.
- Focus on hands-on leadership, embedding yourself where needed to uplift capability and remove blockers to adoption.
- Embedded within a delivery squad as the testing lead and primary point of contact for all quality-related activity, and contribute directly to team outcomes, ensuring you stay close to real-world challenges and maintain practical credibility.
- Working with Squad stakeholders to advocate for the goals of the guild and the progression of guild priorities within squads where appropriate.
- Encourage alignment between squads by facilitating the adoption of shared practices, without allowing the guild to become siloed or function as a separate team.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the wider group and programme, in respect to your respective domain.
- Working closely with the Quality Manager, contributing to the broader Quality Strategy by maintaining a deep and current understanding of their specialty and feeding domain specific needs into the overall roadmap.
- Provide line management for colleagues within your squad, including career development support, coaching, and feedback.
- While you do not own quality across the platform, you are accountable for ensuring your domain is well-understood, adopted consistently, and delivering measurable value within and across squads.
- Foster cross-squad collaboration through guild ceremonies, technical forums, and playbooks, driving the evolution of standards and the sharing of knowledge across the organisation.
- Where applicable, own a cross-squad Quality Guild for key testing initiatives, leading its direction, ceremonies, and the adoption of shared practices across the organisation.
What skills and experience will you have?
