The role
Head of FS Modelling is primarily to support the Finance Director in the management of the Financial Services divisional P&L and balance sheet as well as structured funding.

What will you do as a Head of FS Modelling at N Brown?
(Responsibilities and Accountabilities):
To support the management of a £0.5billion loan book, specifically around budgeting & forecasting key performance metrics, initiatives, regulation, and oversight of IFRS9 impairment provisioning.
Including:
Working closely with Group Finance on the reporting of actual and forecasted positions up to PLC Board
Leading on model and data governance principles ensuring they are maintained to a high level
Lead on budgets and strategic planning processes, collating and gaining buy in to all input parameters
Working closely with Retail, Credit Risk and the Head of FS Commercial Finance to support group wide value creation
To be a key contributor to FS statutory disclosures and investor comms, articulating performance to non FS specialists, internally and externally.
To develop a robust model to forecast the behaviour and value of customer originated on a new Fintech platform.
Provide leadership support and steer finance domain transformations:
Providing team leadership and development, enabling a culture of continuous improvement in a sustainable way
Provide financial and modelling support for other key activities including:
Supporting funding strategies and liquidity risk management, via accurate and insightful modelling
Supporting debt sale initiatives
Supporting scenario modelling including going concern, capital adequacy and impairment modelling
Tax forecasting and support - BDR vat
Who you are (Job qualifications and key skills):
We are looking for an experienced candidate from a numerical, accountancy, audit or analytical background. The successful candidate will be qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with significant post qualification experience and have:
- Strong experience of financial control and financial modelling
- Strong experience of design, governance, evaluation and testing of forecasting models and gaining full stakeholder engagement
- Strong experience in managing and developing teams and building key stakeholder relationships, being able to clearly communicate business drivers and the variables up to Board level
- Experience within a credit lending business within Financial Services and how various attributes of revolving credit demand, debtor book, pricing, and customer behaviour will drive performance
- Experience of creating value driven KPIs within a regulated business to allow improved reporting and decision making
- Experience of Impairment, IFRS 9, and other credit and risk-based drivers
- Technically astute and an appreciation of applicable financial reporting standards is critical
- Being close to the detail, data driven and analytical whilst also being able to articulate results clearly to non-finance individuals
- Naturally inquisitive with a desire to understand a broad range of commercial issues.
- Strong operational delivery track record, motivated to implement/deliver on time to quality standards and build new efficient processes
- Demonstrated ability to quickly appraise complex situations, identify key issues and make timely decisions
- Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organisation and experienced in communicating commercial language with a variety of media
