We are looking for several Graduates to join our two-year scheme with rotations across our Cloud and Platform and  Engineering departments within Digital Technology. The above will be facilitated through  rotations for the first year, to then specialising in the final year in one area.

 

The role and responsibilities

 

You will work as a Graduate Software and Platform Engineer, rotating between different squads to help deliver various high-profile projects. You will contribute to software maintenance and development activities and develop your understanding of cloud infrastructure platforms and services as your capabilities and confidence grows.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, coding, verifying, testing, documenting, amending and refactoring simple programs/scripts.
  • Building upon your software development skills with focus on JavaScript - React, Mobile App (Swift or Kotlin), Java and Python.  
  • Applying agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result.
  • Contributing, under supervision, to routine infrastructure operation.
  • Gains understanding of infrastructure components and services by following the activities of experienced colleagues.

 

What you will need to succeed:  

  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience of Javascript/Typescript
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A methodical/analytical approach and great problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Attitude and the aptitude to learn new technology area/domain quickly
  • Strong self-management skills
  • Ownership, responsiveness and commitment towards assigned work
