A lead copywriter is required to oversee all copy requirements across all channels for our exciting retail brands.

 

A Lead Copywriter crafts persuasive brand messaging, sets copy strategy, and leads a team, writing for diverse channels (web, email, ads) while ensuring brand voice consistency, collaborating with designers, managing projects.

 

Key duties include developing concepts, editing content, adhering to brand guidelines, using SEO, and presenting ideas to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Content Creation: Write and edit clear, compelling copy for ads, websites, emails, social media, video scripts, and print materials.
  • Strategy & Leadership: Develop copy strategy, set creative direction, mentor junior writers, and ensure all copy aligns with brand voice and campaign goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers, marketers, and strategists to create cohesive, integrated campaigns.
  • Research: Investigate industry trends, competitors, and target audiences to inform content.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and handle revisions based on feedback.
  • Quality Control: Proofread and fact-check all content to maintain high standard

Essential Skills & Qualifications 

  • Proven experience in copywriting with a strong portfolio.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, SEO, and consumer psychology.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think creatively, innovate, and work under pressure.

Ways of Working 

  • We offer hybrid working which varies across the business depending on the role you’re in.  Our Head Office is located in the Northern Quarter in Manchester City Centre. So if you are travelling by train, tram or bus we’re perfectly located, plus we’re surrounded by cool cafes, trendy bars and the best places to eat!
  • Our full-time working hours are 36.17 per week over 5-days. We don’t have strict working hours therefore there is some flexibility around start and finish times as long as you are meeting the needs of the business.
